About Śāstric

Shastra (शास्त्र) is a Sanskrit word that means "precept, rules, manual, compendium, book or treatise" in a general sense. The word is generally used as a suffix in the context of Indian literature, for technical or specialised knowledge in a defined area of practice. Shastra has a similar meaning to English -logy, e.g. ecology, psychology, meaning scientific and basic knowledge on a particular subject. In the Indic tradition, we have the Shastras for every field we can imagine. So, Śāstric is an institutional network that now works online only.

So, Śāstric is an online educational institution focused on traditional Sanskrit subjects. This platform has been set up to allow interested individuals to study and expand their knowledge without being physically present. Nowadays, the scale of distance learning and online degrees across most disciplines is enormous and growing rapidly. The main aim of this educational platform is to follow the traditional approach to Sanskrit. One can learn the course of their choice through online resources. This can focus on ideas, opinions, and thoughts while sharing them with other members in an online learning environment. Like PowerPoint presentations, screen sharing will be a helpful way to make the experience easier. Famous scholars and professors will share their views to deepen their knowledge and clarify their thinking. There will also be an option to participate in the Question-Answer session on the social media page, which will help the students to increase their knowledge. Our aim is to promote and develop the Indic knowledge system and popularise the treasure of knowledge preserved in Sanskrit literature.

We would be happy if more and more Sanskrit lovers and practitioners of the Indian Knowledge traditions joined us.

Namaskaar to All.
