Welcome to Śāstric
Shastra (शास्त्र) is a Sanskrit word that means "precept, rules, manual, compendium, book or treatise" in a general sense. The word is generally used as a suffix in the Indian literature context, for technical or specialized knowledge in a defined area of practice. Shastra has a similar meaning to English -logy, e.g. ecology, psychology, meaning scientific and basic knowledge on a particular subject. The IAST symbol ‘ś’, corresponds to English ‘sh’. In Indic tradition, we have the Shastras for every field we can imagine. So, Śāstric is an institutional network, now working online only.
So, Śāstric is an online educational institution, based on Sanskrit traditional subjects. This platform has been set up to allow those who are interested to study and pursue their knowledge without having to be physically present anywhere. Nowadays the magnitude of distance learning and online degrees in most disciplines is enormous and increasing rapidly. Mainly, the method of this educational platform is to follow the traditional way of Sanskrit. One can learn the course of their choice through online resources. This can focus on ideas, opinions, and thoughts while sharing them with other members in online learning. Like PowerPoint presentations through slides, screen sharing will be a supportive methods to make the senses easier. Famous scholars and professors will give their views to grow their knowledge and make their views clearer. There will also be an option to participate in the Question-Answer session on the social media page which will help the students to increase their knowledge our aim is to promote and develop the Indic knowledge system and popularize the treasure of knowledge kept in the Sanskrit language literature.
We will be happy if more and more Sanskrit lovers and practitioners of Indian Knowledge tradition will join with us.
